Developed at the San Francisco Heart & Vascular Institute, this relatively simple web-based application utilizes powerful database modeling tools to help the physician quickly assess the risk of a particular patient about to undergo cardiac surgery. The nine risk models are based on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Cardiac Surgery Database. By entering some readily available preoperative data for a patient, the risk for each of these models can be quickly calculated and compared to published national benchmarks. This software is provided free of charge through the generosity of the San Francisco Heart & Vascular Instiute and the PliaTech Research Foundation.

When you have finished the risk assessment you can save the results as a PDF document. You can also use the back arrows of your browser to return to patient data page where you can enter another patient or edit the current patient data.
